About Us

helpwildlife.co.uk provides free advice on humane, holistic pest control methods

HelpWildlife.co.uk is a charity-run site aiming to provide advice to members of the public who find wildlife casualties, help casualty finders to locate a wildlife rescue in their area, and provide advice on humane, holistic methods of wildlife management.

The site first began in 2005 when founder Sarah became tired of witnessing a distressing amount of misinformation about how to help wildlife casualties on internet forums and social media. Sarah felt there was a need for articles about when and how to help based on experience and a lack of bias. She gathered all the wildlife rescues she knew about into a single page list for easy reference to help with directing casualty finders to help as quickly as possible.

Our directory of wildlife rescues is the most used feature on the site and you can read more about how that has developed here.

Despite the huge changes the site has been through since 2005, it’s still mostly just Sarah and a handful of helpers and we’d really like your help. Whether you’re a wildlife rescuer or just someone who believes in what we’re trying to do, we’d love you to get involved.

Helpwildlife.co.uk is part of the Starlight Trust, the charity founded by Sarah and her husband, Dave. You can find out more about the work of the trust at starlighttrust.org.uk
