Rescue Area

helpwildlife.co.uk provides a directory of around 400 wildlife rescues in the UK who can help with wildlife casualties

This area of the site contains information and guidance for the rescues listed in our directory.

If you are looking for a rescue to help you with a casualty, please click here to search our directory.

If you are a rescue, independent rescuer, or wildlife-friendly vet in the UK, we’d love to have you registered in our directory. You’ll need to Register an Account in order to add a listing. You’ll then be able to edit the listing at any time, including setting it as ‘temporarily closed’ if you’re full or need a break. There are three ‘levels’ to the directory

1. The public directory
This is best suited to established rescue organisations with the capacity to handle considerable public contacts. These rescues are shown to site visitors who search our map. Rescues in this directory must agree to our Community Standards. You can add a listing to the public directory here – Add a rescue listing

2. The back-up directory
This is best suited to smaller rescues whose details are in the public domain but who have less capacity. The rescues are not shown to site visitors in their initial search but their contact details are publicly viewable on the site. Rescues in this directory must agree to our Community Standards. You can add a listing to the back-up directory here – Add a small rescue

3. Community Heroes
This scheme is for independent, informal rescuer/s and wildlife-friendly vet practices. These listings are not shown to site visitors in their initial search and their contact details are hidden from the public. Our team will refer people to you if they’ve not been able to find help from the first two levels of the directory. Community Heroes do not need to sign up to our Community Standards but you do need to be experienced with facilities and vet support already in place. You can add a Community Hero listing here – Add a Community Hero

You’ll find guidance on adding, claiming, editing and removing a listing – here.
