Get Involved

HelpWildlife.co.uk is a charity-run site aiming to provide advice to members of the public who find wildlife casualties, help casualty finders to locate a wildlife rescue in their area, and provide advice on humane, holistic methods of wildlife management.

We’re a very small organisation and we welcome involvement from those who share our passion for making sure our wildlife gets help and fair treatment. Much of the help we need does call for particular skills or knowledge, however.

If you have good technical knowledge, then we would love to have your help with improving the website and with projects such as setting us up with Google Adwords.

If you have graphic design skills, we would love your help with upgrading our educational material.

If you have social media skills, we’d appreciate your help with running our Facebook page. Some knowledge of wildlife would also be beneficial here.

If you have wildlife rescue experience, you could contribute information to our library of advice articles or help with providing advice to those who contact our helpdesk.

We also need help with maintaining the listings in our directory. This doesn’t require any particular skills or knowledge but you will need to be generally comfortable with IT systems and able to pick up written instructions easily. Current vacancies are:-

New Listings Volunteer: We currently have a backlog of nearly 70 listings to be added to the directory. This role involves gathering information from the rescue’s website and social media, and entering it into a simple form on our website. No regular or minimum time commitment is required for this role.

We are a really busy, small team so we especially welcome the involvement of people with existing skills and experience who are confident and self-motivated.

NB: We do not run a rescue ourselves and do not have opportunities for volunteering with animals. For that, please search our directory for a wildlife rescue in your area.

If you would like to get involved with our work, please email [email protected] setting out your skills, experience and the help you can offer.
