Our Helpdesk

helpwildlife.co.uk provides advice on what to do if you find a sick, injured or abandoned wild bird or animal

HelpWildlife.co.uk is a website which provides advice on helping sick and injured wildlife and a directory of wildlife rescue organisations in the UK. Our helpdesk serves as a back up to the advice and directory on our site, seeking to provide bespoke advice for situations not covered by our advice articles and/or assist people in locating a suitable wildlife rescue if they’re unable to do so themselves using the directory.

Before you submit a request

  • search our directory for rescues in your area if help is needed (tip: help is ALWAYS needed for animals caught by a cat or dog, hit by a car, caught in netting/line, or covered in oil). You can do this by visiting directory.helpwildlife.co.uk
  • please note the following
    • we’re not able to help with rescuing animals directly ourselves
    • we cannot dispatch a rescue to you or contact them on your behalf. After contacting our helpdesk, you will still need to telephone a rescue if help is needed. We’ll just provide you with advice and rescue details to call.
    • we can only provide advice by email. If you prefer to speak to someone by telephone, there are details of 24 hour phone lines at https://helpwildlife.co.uk/help/

If you want to contact us about anything other than a wild animal needing help, please go to https://helpwildlife.co.uk/contact-us/
